How to Use a Crypto Exchange: A Step-by-Step Beginner Walkthrough
In short
- An exchange is a 24/7 market for crypto
- Total balance at the top
- Deposit · Withdraw · Transfer · P2P buttons
- KYC (CNIC + selfie) is normal and required
An exchange is an app where people buy and sell crypto — like a bazaar that never closes. Popular ones are Binance, Bybit and OKX. They all look very similar, so I built you a practice exchange. Look at the screen I just opened 👉
This is the home screen. At the top is your total balance — all your crypto added up and shown in dollars.
These are the quick buttons:
• Deposit — put crypto in
• Withdraw — send crypto out
• Transfer — move between your own wallets
• P2P — buy USDT with rupees (this is the big one for Pakistan)
This list is the market. Each row is a coin, its price in USDT, and how much it moved in 24 hours. Green = went up, red = went down.
Looking for a coin? Use search — just type its name, like SOL.
At the bottom is the main menu. Trade is for buying and selling real coins (spot). Futures is for betting on price direction — powerful, risky, and we'll learn it properly later.
Before you can use any real exchange, you'll complete KYC — proving it's really you. It's normal, required by law, and takes 5–15 minutes.
Setting up your exchange account
- Download the official app — check the spelling and the publisher
- Sign up with your email or phone number
- Upload your CNIC (front and back)
- Take a quick selfie so they can match your face
- Turn on 2FA (Google Authenticator) — a second lock on your account
You want to see how much money you have in total. Where do you look?
Answer: The total balance at the top. Yes — everything you own, added up.
